"Beginning his collaboration with Hungarian director, Balázs Simon in March 2018; Leifur James produced the critically acclaimed, ‘Wurlitzer’ project, seeing support from Boiler Room, CLASH, the BFI, Directors’ Notes, Motionographer, the UK and Berlin Music Video Awards, the London Short Film Festival, Dublin International Film Festival and more.
‘Wurlitzer’, originated from James’ grandmother's Wurlitzer upright piano, played in a prehistoric stone circle in England in 2018. The thrashing midwinter winds inspired the synth line that grows steadily through the piece to its climax.
